Q. What is Steps for Students?
Steps for Students is a significant event to participate in to help our Catholic Community Schools. This charitable event supports over 56 Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Galveston- Houston. Over the years, this exciting race day of family fun has brought together our Catholic community to celebrate a sunrise Mass, sanctioned 5K run /walk, and a fantastic post-race party in the Catholic School Village. We are very excited to announce the return to gather for our 17th annual 5K race day at the Downtown Chancery in 2022!

Q. Will masks be required?
We follow the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommendations. At this time, since the race will be an outdoor event, we will not require masks. Due to the reality of COVID-19’s ever changing nature, we will review closer to the race if any changes are necessary and update runners via email.
Q. If we are unable to hold an in-person event, what happens?
The race is contingent upon local safety protocols and City of Houston permitting and should additional circumstances arise prohibiting Steps for Students from proceeding as planned, our commitment to you is that we will work to inform you of those decisions as quickly as possible. Since we did a virtual race last year, we are able to pivot to a virtual race if necessary. In this situation, refunds will not be issued as this is a charity race.
